Morris County New Year's Baby: It's a Girl!

A Jefferson Township family welcomed its new arrival at Morristown Medical Center at 12:38 a.m. New Year's Day.

Morris County's first new citizen of 2014 made her appearance at Morristown Medical Center at 12:38 a.m. New Year's Day, Atlantic Health announced.

The bundle of joy is swaddled in pink, metaphorically speaking: Alice Anna Sandor of Oak Ridge in Jefferson Township came in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. And while she was born in a hospital, the New Year's baby was also noteworthy in that she was delivered by a midwife from the Avalon Midwife Group.

The proud parents are elementary school teacher Steve Sandor and Theresa Hunt, who teaches humanities at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The couple have another daughter, Alice Anna's big sister, Lucy.
