Super Bowl Kicks Off With Superhero Charity Race

The run is hosted by Superhero Events LLC, the group known for staging a long-ago running event for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

Super Bowl is coming to New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, and you can turn the national spectacle into your own get-fit challenge, the Daily Record reported. The third annual Super Bowl Pre-Game 4-Miler, a fun four-mile race for Morris County residents, takes place before the big game on Super Bowl Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in Morristown. The run starts and finishes at the Wells Fargo parking lot at corner of Maple Ave. and DeHart St. 

Interested people may register online ahead of the event for $35; race day registration at the site is $40. Participants receive a long sleeve running shirt and goodie bag, and runners are encourage to wear costumes. Registration on race day is $40. The USA Track and Field-certified race begins From there the course goes south down James St. to the Spring Brook Golf Course, and north onto Route 202 before finishing back to the starting line. Proceeds from the event benefit the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown.
