Lifelong Morristown Resident Dies at 75

Joseph Rooney was a lifelong resident of Morristown, raising his children and living with his wife of five decades there.

The great-grandfather died at the age of 75 at his home surrounded by his family.

Rooney graduated Bayley Ellard High School and worked as a union plumber for Local 14, according to his obituary.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, of 52 years. Together they had five daughters and one son. Rooney is also survived by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Rooney’s name can be made to the American Heart and Lung Association.
