Morristown Native, Executive Chef Dies at 74

Steve Malpere was a grandfather and loved the Morristown St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Stephen Malpere was a Jersey guy, and loved being in Morristown.

The husband, father and grandfather died in Morristown, the same place he was born, at age 74, according to his obituary.

Malpere is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. He also was a grandfather of two.

Malpere was an award-winning executive chef and had numerous accomplishments during his restaurant career, the obituary said.

Malpere enjoyed vacationing annually at the Jersey Shore, going to the Morristown St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and all things New York Jets.

The burial is held privately, but a celebration of Malpere’s life will take place at a later date.
