Pocket Park's 'Architectural Feature:' Yay or Nay?

The "Pocket Park" has four benches, a large patch of grass and ... an architectural feature. Dubbed this by County Engineer Steve Hammond, the so-named feature is a pervious hard surface, which bystander Amanda Thiem wondered, "Are they going to put Hop Scotch on this?"

Hammond said in December the pervious surface would serve a similar purpose to the grassy area. "We'll see how it holds up in the winter time," he said. "It may change in the spring, but we'll have to see."
