NJ Transit Bus Drivers

Today I had an extremely bad experience with a NJ Transit Bus Driver at the Morristown railroad station.
I dropped my wife off at the Morristown Station, and as she got out of the car a NJ Transit Bus pulled in front of my car nearly shearing off the left front end.

As my wife was notifying the bus driver about the near miss, he aggressively began waving his arms at her and yelling at her, put his bus in reverse, and accelerated rapidly in reverse towards the front end of my car.  To avoid him hitting me I threw my car into reverse and accelerated backwards.  If not for my quick reaction (and the fact that there was no car behind mine), my car and myself would have been crushed.

I have seen this aggressive behavior displayed on several occasions.   I have seen this same type of thing happen in the evening when people arrive to pick up train passengers.  The buses pull in on an angle that comes awfully close to the front end of the waiting vehicles, but this morning’s incident was way more threatening.

I have filed a complaint with NJ Transit and also filed a police report in hopes that something is done about this kind of aggressive behavior, which appears to be condoned by NJ Transit.

If you or someone you know has had something like this happen to you, please by all means report it to NJ Transit and publish it here on Morristown Patch.  Maybe then the management at NJ Transit will wake up and do something about it.
