Where' the Best Martial Arts Studio for Kids?

Who gets your kicks over the competition?

For many parents, martial arts is the preferred way of teaching their youngsters how to defend themselves and how to be disciplined, all while getting a good workout and having fun.

Here in the Morristown area, we have a number of martial arts businesses that want your business. The question is: who gets it?

In this week's installment of "Readers' Choice," we're asking which martial arts studios in Morristown, Morris Township and Morris Plains you want your children to earn their Black Belts? The choices are:

As always, if we have accidentally left an option off our list, please let us know in the comments. Polls will close at 9 a.m. on Friday, and a winner–based on a combination of poll votes and comments–will be announced later that day.

Happy voting!

The Jersey Judo and Karate Academy (JJKA) runs a program together with the Town of Morristown Recreation Department. Although the JJKA home Dojo (i.e., headquarters) is in Kenvil, their classes meet Wednesday and Thursday evenings in Alexander Hamilton School. The cost is very low and the quality of instruction is very high. Ask the town for a brochure or stop by! Yes, I'm biased; my daughter is a black belt.

Haven't experienced any of the above choices, but I can say that World Class Martial Arts on Rte. 53 in Denville has an outstanding tae kwon do program for kids, and an equally outstanding program for adults!

Greeting to all. Its time for a change. All of these martial arts schools teach commercial business martial arts to.adults and kids.they dont teach street self defense. They teach what they are use too that is for samurai karate for that day and time. That martial arts is not useful for this day and time. Its all money. You pay your money and get nothing back in return. But a bunch of samurai stories. Vee Arnis jitsu is the only school on the planet that teaches true street self defense created by the grand master professor vee. And Im in the progress of bringing this system to morristown Master James Morrison.
