What Should Occupy Zebu Forno?

Often, you would find Patch there. Now, what should go here?

It is with a somewhat heavy heart that this week our "Occupy This Space" looks at what, , was .

As any regular reader of Morristown Patch knows, we had a fondness for this place. This mostly was because we knew the people there so well and felt comfortable spending several hours doing our daily work. It would be our second office if, you know, we had a first office.

But, with this, with anything, we have to move on. Zebu Forno was in a prime location on South Street, spitting distance from the Green (OK, it would a long spit, but still, pretty close). It's surrounded by boutiques, restaurants and is right next to a self-serve froyo shop (so, please keep the sarcastic "put another froyo shop in" comments to a minimum, natch).

So, what do you think should "Occupy This Space?" Or, what do you think will occupy it? Chime in below.

I think it may stay closed for a bit, and definitely doubt another coffee shop. I'd have guessed a Panera if one wasn't opening on the other side of town.

What I'd like to see downtown is a music store, as in musical instruments, music lessons, maybe even a vinyl section, picking up a piece of the former Scottis. But it would be tough to make that work financially. What I think will occupy it is another restaurant, though to be competitive it would need to be something different - exotic ethnic or something. But not pizza, which as good as Zebu was - it ended up being seen as just another pizza place.

A grill that makes authentic philly cheesesteaks (yet to find a decent one in north jersey)

I hope it's a frozen yogurt store or a high- end boutique

Back in the days of Star Music and Scottis.

The rumor is that the "Iron bar" is looking to expand. The backing of the council for the "Iron bar" was a resounding 6-0. Looks like it's there for Jimmy's taking.

Motown Resident, I've heard the same thing. Jimmy can do whatever he wants. Does anyone know why Jimmy gets away with murder?

I would love, love, love to see a Spice shop in Morristown, but I don't think this is the right fit for that locaiton considering it's surroundings. Sounds like Iron Bar will be the likely result. Hopefully with more room inside we can have our sidewalk back from the waiting line to get in on the weekends.

How about a real Verizon store - not just a retail outlet. And yes, Apple would be great. A good restaurant specializing in fish would also be nice - I don't think we have such a thing around here.

I heard the "Iron Bar" will expand it's license there.
