4 Morristown Firefighters Honored for Restarting Man's Heart, Saving Life

200 Club of Morris County recognizes outstanding service of 33 police, fire and first aid members.

Firefighters aren’t trained just to tame a blaze. They’re also trained – and always ready – to save a life.

That’s why four of Morristown’s bravest were honored with a Meritorious Award from the 200 Club of Morris County recently, after their heroic actions on Jan. 2, 2014.

Firefighters Richard Alexander, Gregory Blekicki, Dominic Prizzi, and Joseph SanFelice III save the life of a man who went into cardiac arrest at a nearby business. The first responders were able to deploy an automated external defibrillator and restart the man’s heart.
