Bar Patron Punches, Shatters Door Window After Being Thrown Out, Cops Say

Iron Bar owner says customer was being verbally abusive to female bartender, police report.

A Parsippany man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after punching through a glass window on a back door at Iron Bar recently, Morristown Police said.

Officer Emmanuel Margaronis was on foot patrol just after midnight on May 10 when he was stopped by Darrel Remlinger, the owner of Iron Bar, police said. Remlinger told the officer that a customer had shattered the glass window on the rear exit door and was being restrained by the business’s security staff, police said.

When Margaronis reached the back of the bar, he found David O’Loughlin, 24, being restrained by a security guard, police said. Remlinger told police O’Louglin was originally taken out of the bar for being verbally abusive and hostile toward a female bartender and bothering other customers, police said.

While being escorted out, O’Loughlin became hostile and physically aggressive toward the security staff, police said. Once outside the back door, O’Loughlin began hitting the back door and subsequently shattered the 18x18 glass window, projecting shards of glass onto customers and Remlinger, police said.

O’Loughlin was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and released pending a court appearance.
