Matthew Fleissner, 24, of Summit was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and threats to kill at 10:36 p.m. on Aug. 26.

Officer Jesse Dickerson was on foot patrol on South Street when dispatch reported the incident, saying a man had threatened to shoot a security guard at , according to Dickerson's report.

As the officer approached the business, several people pointed toward Bank Street shouting, "there he goes," according to the report. Dickerson headed toward Fleissner, who had his hands in his pockets and did not initially stop when ordered to do so, according to the report.

Dickerson ordered Fleissner again to stop and take his hands out of his pockets, police said. Fleissner stopped this time, turned around and took one hand out of his pocket. The officer told him to remove his other hand and was about to draw his weapon, which prompted Fleissner to remove his other hand from his pocket, according to the report.

The officer then spoke with employees at the bar who said Fleissner had been thrown out for being disorderly and fighting with other patrons but had refused to leave, according to the report.

As Fleissner was escorted to the exit, he turned around and said he would put a 9-mm gun into the security guard's mouth and pull the trigger, police said. When security asked for clarification, Fleissner said he would shoot the security guard through the eye, prompting them to call police, according to the report.

Fleissner was later transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Morristown is Great September 07, 2012 at 02:36 AM
Another classic. Why don't you write some positive pieces? This is garbage that you are just trying to poorly portray our town with. Promote Morristown.

I'm starting feel like Fred Snowflack has returned. But, I suppose if a single over served kid is the worst thing going on in this town, we're in pretty good shape. Other communities are dealing with drugs, poverty and high property taxes, Morristown has a lot to be proud about.

I agree with Morristown is Great. Write some positive pieces about our town.I can't believe you wasted ink on this trivial article.
Mike Ippolito September 07, 2012 at 02:48 PM
just the facts ma'am. Just the facts.

1,200 bar goers, 600 restaurant customers and 2,000 theater patrons enjoy lovely evening in Morristown. All arrive home safely without incident. Police have no comment. When asked about the large blank spaces on its webpage, a Patch spokesperson responded with "We got nothing".

News is news. I respect Morristown Patch for reporting ALL the news, both good and bad. If all you want is rainbows and flowers, go read a children's book. I'm sorry you're under the assumption that Morristown is a utopia.
Barbara Cohen September 07, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Why do you people have a problem knowing what goes on in our town?? Good and bad. It's good to be informed.
The Mud Lady September 08, 2012 at 12:45 AM
How is an arrest in town of someone threatening murder "nothing"? And what do those who arrived home safely that night have ANYTHING to do with this incident? Thank you Patch for informing us what is happening in town, even if it's undesirable.
Kevin September 08, 2012 at 02:33 AM
Hey Mud Lady, how about you stop making fun of Maryann (yes, she does have a name)? Smug, pseudo-intellectuals are just as undesirable as drunken idiots.
clyde donovan September 08, 2012 at 03:26 AM
Morristown has serious problems with its bars and with alcohol abuse.
clyde donovan September 08, 2012 at 03:27 AM
You are correct.
The Mud Lady September 08, 2012 at 12:32 PM
Thanks for the advice, but I'll stick around with the name. We appreciate your concern though.

I love The Mud Lady. I would definitely buy her a drink.

They write plenty of positive pieces. Morristown is becoming a hub for late night revelers and citizens are entitled to know what is going on, good and bad.
