Cops: Jefferson Woman Had Knife at Court
Drimatlly Jiminez had fixed-blade knife in diaper bag, police say.
A Jefferson Township woman was arrested at the Tuesday when a Morris County Sheriff’s officer discovered a fixed-blade knife inside the woman’s diaper bag, police said.
Morris County Sheriff’s Officer Laura Siemonsma-Bertelli arrested Drimatlly Jiminez, 21, of the Oak Ridge section of the township, when she attempted to pass through the security entrance with her 2-month-old daughter, police said.
Siemonsma-Bertelli was observing the security entrance and noticed a 5 1/4-inch fixed-blade knife inside the diaper bag as it passed through the X-Ray machine at the main courthouse entrance, according to police.

Jiminez was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. She also had warrants for her arrest from Wayne, Elmwood Park and Clifton for various traffic offenses, according to police.
Bail for the municipal warrants were set by those municipalities, and Jiminez was released on her own recognizance pending new court dates on the local charges. She was ordered by Superior Court Judge Stuart Minkowitz to appear in court Thursday on the Morris County charge.
“Our officers take the task of protecting our courthouse, employees and public extremely seriously and do their job each day very well,” Morris County Sheriff Edward V. Rochford said after the incident.
