Cops: Masked Men Robbed Kings Supermarket

Two men took approximately $1,000 from the store Sunday night, police said.

Two unarmed men wearing dark clothing and ski masks pushed a store employee and robbed the of less than $1,000 late Sunday night, Morristown Police said.

According to a statement issued Monday by Morristown Police Capt. Steven Sarinelli, the robbery occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. The supermarket closes at 10 p.m. on Sundays.

According to employee accounts, a newer model black or dark-colored Jeep Cherokee pulled in front of the main entrance to the store, police said. Two passengers then exited the vehicle wearing long sleeves, dark clothing, ski masks and entered the store, according to Sarinelli's release.

Once inside, both males jumped over the customer service counter, police said. They encountered an employee who was pushed to the side, while they went through the cash drawers, police said. The men then advised the employees they were being robbed, according to police.

The two men then exited the store and fled in the vehicle that was parked in the front waiting for them, according to police.

Employee accounts indicated there were two other people inside the Jeep while the two went inside the store. The two inside the Jeep were described as black males, police said. 

No weapons were displayed during the incident, according to the witnesses and no one was injured.

Less than $1,000 in cash was taken, according to police.
