Emergency Alerts: What Happened Overnight

Emergency Officials were scrambling throughout the Morris County area overnight Saturday, into Sunday, as Hurricane Irene-related storms made their presence felt.

The Breaking News Network, which transcribes emergency scanner communications, reported the following incidents overnight. Note: Such communications often reflect only initial impressions of an incident, and are not official statements from emergency officials.  These incidents have not been confirmed by Patch.

• West Parkway from Jacksonville Road to Slingerland Avenue in Pequannock was closed due to flooding shortly before 5 a.m.
• Ridgedale Avenue in Morristown was closed due to flooding at atound 4:40 a.m.
• A tree fell into a house in Rockaway on Oakland Avenue, trapping an occupant. But authorities reported the tree was reomved around 4:40 a.m.
• Roads were flooded on Southbound Route 206 going into Oakwood Village in Flanders around 3 a.m.
• A woman was on top of her car, stuck in the water at around 3 a.m. Sunday in Randolph, in the area of Route 10 and Sussex Turnpike.
• A partial basement collapse was reported on Morris Street in Randolph shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday.
• Route 26 and Mount Olive Road in Budd Lake had more than 2 feet of water and rising as of about 2:40 a.m. Sunday.
• The circle of Route 46 and Route 183 in Netcong was flooding around 2 a.m. Sunday
• Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, a branch of a tree went through a Rose Terrace resident's bedroom window in Chatham.
• At about 12:20 a.m. Sunday, a transformer fire was reported in Gillette
• Around midnight, police in Chatham responded to a report of a tree hitting a building in the Cardinal Hill Apartments on River Road.
• Just before midnight Saturday, Beaver Brook Road in Lincoln Park was closed due to flooding.
