Hit-and-Run Driver Sought for Striking Pedestrian

Parsippany man sustained multiple injuries while crossing the street Monday.

A Parsippany man was struck by a car on North Park Place while trying to cross the street, and police are searching for a driver who fled the scene.

Police responded to a report of a man down in the crosswalk on North Park Place at Washington Street on Monday, and found Joseph Reo, 47, at the scene, Lt. Stuart Greer said.

Reo was attempting to cross Washington Street at the intersection of North Park Place when he was hit by a vehicle, Greer said. As a result of the collision, Reo sustained head, shoulder and ankle injuries, and was taken to Morristown Medical Center, Greer said.

The vehicle did not stop and took off in an unknown direction. Anyone who knows about the incident or the vehicle that fled is asked to call Officer Eric Petr at 973-538-2200.
