Local Police to Run Special Olympics Torch Thru Morristown

Show your support and line up on Route 202 around noon on Friday

The iconic torch run associated with the Olympics is something many don’t have the pleasure of ever seeing, but this Friday, locals will be given this chance.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey will pass through Morris Township and similar to the running of the Olympic Torch, the run consists of dedicated Law Enforcement officers participating in a journey to bring the Special Olympics New Jersey “Flame of Hope” torch throughout the state.

Around noon on Friday, school children, store owners, and spectators, will line Route 202 in a show of support as Morris Township Police Officers carry the torch and pass it on until its final destination at the Opening Ceremonies of the Summer Games.
