Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl Accepts Plea Deal
Alleged crimes took place in Morristown, Parsippany, and Dover over two-year period, report says.
A Franklin Township man indicted on 23 counts of sexually abusing a girl under the age of 16 in Morris County pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Wednesday, nj.com reported.
Francisco Paz said he slapped a girl under the age of 16 on the buttocks over her clothing for sexual gratification in 2008, the report said, leading to his conviction of a single charge of third-degree child endangerment.
When the incident happened, Paz said in court Wednesday, he was living in Morristown. The previous indictment alleged Paz sexually assaulted the girl numerous times during a two-year time frame in Morristown, Parsippany, and Dover, nj.com reported.

The plea will put Paz under Megan’s Law restrictions and parole supervision for the remainder of his life.
Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Brent Rafuse recommended a 3- to 5-year prison sentence with parole eligibility in 9 months, the report said. Sentencing is scheduled for June 20.
