Man Claims to Be Authority During St. Patrick's Day Arrest

The man was charged with disorderly conduct and urinating in public. He was later released on his own recognizance

After monitoring the Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 9, Detective Brendan Briscoe was in plain clothes when he spotted two men urinating in an alleyway around 10 p.m. near 95 Morris Street, as reported by NJ.com.

After showing his badge, identifying himself as a police officer and asking for their identification, Briscoe said in his report that the first man refused to give Briscoe his ID.

NJ.com writes that the other man, Aroneo, 21, of Jefferson quickly approached Briscoe and said: "F--- your badge, I am the police here," according to the police report. Aroneo then placed his hands on Briscoe's chest, and Briscoe took him to the ground, telling him he was under arrest, according to the report.

After several attempts of telling Aroneo to place his hands behind his back, Aroneo finally complied and was handcuffed before being transported to the Morristown Police Department, the report said.
