Denville Man Subdued After Resisting Arrest, Police Say

23-year-old held on $10,000 bail after incident outside Sona.

The biggest drinking night of the year ended poorly for a 23-year-old Denville man on Nov. 27 when a conflict with two officers outside of Sona 13 landed him in jail, Morristown Police said.

According to a report by Officer Adam Khoudja, Jay Main was arrested for disorderly conduct by Officers Anthony O'Brien and Richard Rispoli when he tried to resist arrest.

In the use of force report from both Rispoli and O'Brien, Main resisted police officer control and posed a physical threat to the officers. Main's struggling required the officers to place him in a compliance hold and the use of their hands and feet to subdue him, the report said.

Unable to post $10,000 bail after his arrest, Main was transported to the Morris County Jail, the report said.
