Morris Township FD Preps For Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The event is this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Alfred Vail School on Speedwell Avenue

The Morris Township Fire Department has been stocking up on Easter eggs and bunnies. They’re preparing for their Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. at Alfred Vail Elementary School—125 Speedwell Avenue in Morris Plains.

“I’ve been with the fire department for 31 years and the Easter egg hunt was going on when I joined,” said Firefighter William Duffy. “We just went out and bought eggs and bunnies. The kids who find the prize eggs get a prize bunny.”

The egg hunt is for children 12 years old and younger. Participating kids need to bring a basket. Families simply need to get there at 10 a.m. and get their kids in the right age category. If the weather doesn’t hold up, the egg hunt will be moved into the fire department’s meeting room.

“If it rains, we’ll send the kids into the meeting room one age group at a time for their egg hunt,” said Duffy. “We’re hoping that the fields dry up in time and that the grass is dry.”
