Morristown Man Arrested on Madison Train Tracks

Court appearance pending in Monday night incident.

A Morristown resident is facing charges in Madison after a late-night incident at the borough's train station.

At 10:48 p.m. on Oct. 3, Madison Ptl. Paul Papamarkos arrested 25-year-old Juan Cantarero, of Morristown, and charged him with disorderly conduct.

Papamarkos was conducting a nightly incoming train check on the westbound side of the NJ Transit station when he observed Cantarero, on the tracks, allegedly screaming obscenities at individuals on the eastbound platform.

Rail operations were not affected. NJ Transit operates a weekday westbound train stopping in Madison, arriving at 10:51 p.m.

Cantarero was removed from the tracks and placed under arrest by Papamarkos. He was taken to headquarters for processing and released pending a mandatory court appearance.
