Morristown Officers Honored for DWI Enforcement

MADD recognized law enforcement officers from around the state on Thursday

Last month, the National Transportation Safety Board recommended that states lower the blood-alcohol threshold for driving under the influence from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent.

According to the latest government statistics almost 10,000 people died in drunk driving crashes in 2011. That’s one every 53 seconds and one in three people will be involved in an alcohol-related crash in their lifetime.

On Thursday, Morristown police officers were recognized by MADD for several reasons, one of which includes DWI enforcement, according to Capt. Richard Ferrone, Patrol Division Commander of Morris Twp. PD.
