Move Car Off Street for Snow Removal or Get Towed, Cops Say

Eight streets to have snow removed Sunday night, Monday morning by Morristown Department of Public Works.

Thanks to what felt like an avalanche of snow piling on the region in recent weeks, the streets of Morristown have become nearly impassable because of the piles of snow and ice.

With that the town department of public works is working alongside the police department to clear the roads Sunday night and Monday morning, and are requesting residents to move their vehicles from the roads during certain times.

Starting at 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, vehicles need to be removed from:
  • Pine Street (between South Street to King Place on both sides of the road)
  • Speedwell Avenue (from The Green to Clinton Place)
Starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, vehicles need to be removed from:
  • Abbett Avenue (from Ridgedale Avenue to Jardine Road on both sides of the roadway)
  • Lincoln Street (on the side of the road with posted signs)
  • Phoenix Avenue (on the side of the road with posted signs)
  • Cobb Place (on the side of the road with posted signs)
  • Lyons Place (on the side of the road with posted signs)
  • Cutler Street (on the side of the road with posted signs)

Signs have been posted with No Parking signs indicating the date and time of snow removal, according to Morristown Police Lt. Stuart Greer. Vehicles that are not removed in areas that have been posted will be towed to facilitate the removal of snow, Greer said.
