'Leads Are Being Followed' in Lincoln Street Shooting, Prosecutor Says

Authorities still investigating and asking residents to call with any information.

The investigation into why a man was found on Lincoln Street with a gunshot wound to his leg is ongoing, and “leads are being followed,” according to Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp.

The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. Friday when Morristown Police responded to a car crash on the residential road. When authorities arrived they found a car had crashed and the driver had “severe bleeding to the leg,” according to dispatch calls made on Friday.

There is no threat to the community, Knapp said, and the incident is not considered to be random.
