Police: Man Cried and Collapsed

The following arrest information was supplied by the Morristown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police say a 25-year-old male began crying, hyperventilating and collapsed to the floor of the Morristown Police Station after being arrested and charged with defiant trespassing at .

Daniel Mahoney, of Brookside, had been ejected from the bar but had continued to get back inside several times before police were called, according to a police incident report.

At the bar, Mahoney told police he had an open tab and that his credit card was still inside, according to the report. However, employees said his tab had been closed and Mahoney found his credit card and a receipt in his pocket, according to the report.

Police told Mahoney to leave the bar, at which time he said his father was a lawyer and, "I know my rights," according to the report. He eventually began to leave but, when police looked back, they saw that Mahoney again was attempting to get back inside Sona Thirteen, at which time he was arrested and charged with defiant trespass, the report states.

At the police station, according to police, Mahoney began to cry and hyperventiliate. He then collapsed and police began to administer first aid, the report states.

After about 10 seconds, Mahoney stopped holding his breath and sat up, according to the report.

He was transported to Morristown Medical Center, due to his high level of intoxication, according to the report.
