Prosecutor: Man Found Dead at Speedwell Ave. Home

Authorities say foul play likely not a factor, seek information regarding incident.

A man was found dead at the bottom of a set of stairs at a home on Speedwell Avenue Monday afternoon, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

A preliminary investigation does not suggest foul play, according to a statement released Tuesday by Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi.

The man, whose identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was found at the bottom of the stairs at 205 Speedwell Ave., which is part of a series of connected apartments, Monday at about 2:15 p.m., the prosecutor's office said.

The male was described as Hispanic and being in his early 20s, the prosecutor's office said.

No one was at the premises Tuesday afternoon.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section and the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to investigate the incident, the prosecutor's office said.
