Morris County Man Convicted of Murdering Wife…

Shattered Window Closed Morristown Business

Oak Ridge man charged with criminal mischief after allegedly admitting to slapping store window with an open hand.

A 24-year-old man was charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly admitted to accidentally shattering the store window of Raul's Empanadas on Thanksgiving Eve.

Sean E. O'Rourke, of Oak Ridge, told police he did not intend to break the window and offered to pay for the damage before being arrested at 1:50 a.m. on Nov. 22, according to a police report released on Friday.

The restaurant's owner, Raul Silva, told police the physical damage would cost $1,200 to be repaired, but that he also lost about $1,500 worth of business on the night of the incident because he had to close the restaurant early. Police said shards of glass covered tables and the floor of the business.

O'Rourke told police he was upset because someone had allegedly tried to get into a fight with him and that he slapped the window with an open hand, not planning to break it.

O'Rourke was arrested and transported to the Morristown police station. He was later released in his own recognizance.

Has O'Rourke also agreed to anger management classes? Shattering a window like That isn't that easy. Was he drunk?
