Police: Stabbing Leads to Arrest of 2 Morristown Men

Residents involved in Victory Gardens altercation had outstanding warrants, police say.

Two Morristown men with outstanding warrants were involved in an altercation that left one with multiple stab wounds early Sunday morning in Victory Gardens, State Police said.

Saleem Robinson, 24, was found with outstanding warrants out of Morris and Essex counties. Anthoni Moore, 23, who was not injured in the incident, had existing warrants in Madison. A third man, Darryl Riggs, 25, of Irvington, was arrested on active warrants out of Virginia.

State Troopers, who patrol the .146-square mile borough next to Randolph, responded Sunday shortly after 1 a.m. on report of an aggravated assault, according to Sgt. Brian Polite with the New Jersey State Police.

Robinson, whose 24th birthday was on Saturday, had multiple stab wounds, while Riggs had several lacerations to his face, Polite said. Both were taken to for treatment and later taken to the Morris County Detention Center, Polite said.

Robinson also was charged with hindering apprehension after he allegedly provided State Police with false information, Polite said.

Moore was taken into custody by the Madison Police Department, Polite said.
