Traffic Delays Expected During 5K Event

The Morristown Police Department issued an alert Friday letting people know about expected traffic delays starting around 5:45 p.m., July 14, during The Verizon Classic Challenge 5K run.

At 5:45 p.m. Mills Street will be closed from Early Street to Sussex Avenue, with limited access for residents only. At 6:45 p.m. Speedwell Avenue between Spring Street and North Park Place will be closed. 

Emergency vehicle traffic coming north on Speedwell Avenue and east on Sussex Avenue should plan an alternate route, according to the release. The roadway will be cleared by 9 p.m. 

Bus traffic should be relocated to the Morristown Train Station, 122 Morris St., according to the release. Lt. Darnell Richardson will be coordinating this event. He can be reached at 973-292-6692.
