By a 5-2 vote, the Morristown Zoning Board of Adjustment gave approval to a developer to create 29 condominium homes that will occupy a vacant piece of land on Ridgedale Avenue.

According to newjerseyhills.com, the development will be a mix of town homes and condos and only available for sale, not rent.

North Bergen Development LLC is supporting the project, and will create, at its highest, four-story buildings with brick facades, the report said. The name of the development is Ridgedale Commons.

The number of units comes as a compromise, the report said, as the developer sought to create 33 homes while the town asked for 24.

Will they be paying school taxes or will that expense be shifted to the rest of us?

Well according to the article (I know it was long) the properties are for sale and not rent... So they'll all be paying property taxes. Also those who rent, that rent goes to the owners, who pay property taxes...

Dan, that is not necessarily true in Morristown and cities small and large in NJ and other places. The town has given some apartment/condo complexes and businesses a pass on the school portion of their taxes in the past. Why should we expect anything different? Sometimes they play the game to gain more aid, state or federal for which we pay. Due to the unequal financial demands on Morris Township in the forced, illegal under the NJ Constitution, merged Morris School District, Township residents are taken advantage at every turn.
