Sept. 27 Council Meeting Moved to Oct. 11

What is going on at the next council meeting, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27?

That was our original opening to this story. But, now it should read "Oct. 11," as the Sept. 27 council meeting has been cancelled, per an email issued shortly after 11 a.m. on Tuesday from Town Clerk Matthew Stechauner.

The Oct. 11 meeting will address the issues that were on the Sept. 27 agenda, so take a look at what has been delayed two weeks:

  1. You Need to Know About $2M: That is the cost in a bond ordinance providing for improvements to the Sewer Utility Complex Construction of offices and a garage at the Sewer Utility Complex. It will be up for second reading and adoption at this council meeting.
  2. You Need to Know About the Housing Element/Fair Housing Plan: Jonathan Rose Companies will conduct a presentation on the Housing Element and Fair Share Housing Plan, approved earlier this month. For those who just can't wait, however, a copy of the plan and supporting documents are available on the town website.
  3. You Need to Know About a Hurricane Pumper: Interested in a 1990 hurricane pumper? The council is expected to vote on approval of placing the item, which is no longer needed by the town, in an online auction.
  4. You Need to Know About Green Sky Industries: The recycling firm is up for a five-year contract with Morristown, and would pay Morristown for recyclable material that is picked up within the Town, and for material deposited at its Lake Road Recycling Facility.
  5. Councilwoman Allison Deeb has this listed under "unfinished business."
