Angry Residents to Continue Protest of Proposed Daycare Center

About a hundred homeowners from Convent Mews and the Village at Convent Station voiced concerns over proposed center.

A hundred Morristown and Morris Plains residents who turned out to a Zoning Board meeting Wednesday to battle against the building of a proposed daycare center will have to return in December to continue the fight.

That's because the meeting was adjourned after hours of wrangling between the board and the angered residents of Morristown’s Convent Mews townhouses and the Village at Convent Station in Morris Township, according to a MorristownGreen.com report.

December's meeting will be the third time the residents have flooded Zoning Board hearings to complain that the planned 10,765-square-foot Rainbow Academy will wreak havoc with their peace and quiet and lower property values, according to MorristownGreen.com.

The facility is planned to be built on a lot that is just under an acre and is situated in a residential zone.

The continuing saga of the daycare center building is scheduled to resume at the next Zoning Board meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
