Council Meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday

Here's what you need to know.

While much of the conversation in the air , that's not all on their agenda.

Here are a few more items you may want to be aware of before heading over.

  1. Compensations: Compensation for the mayor and council for 2012 is up for second and final reading at the meeting. If you are interested in knowing more about this, which comes up every year, there will be a public portion.
  2. Improvements: Two resolutions for introduction are scheduled regarding various improvements: one to provide various sewer facility repairs and improvements, at a cost of $200,000; one for various capital improvements, at a cost of $1,757,000, for municipal building, road, and park improvements, as well as and Department of Public Works equipment purchases.
  3. The I-287 repaving project is the resolution that doesn't seem to go away. It's back on this week's agenda, with the state seeking an endorsement by Morristown for the project.
  4. Eat Fresh! A resolution calls for the authorization of the filing of a grant application with the Morris County Open Space Trust Fund for the acquisition of 13, 17 and 28 Early St., at a cost of $1,575,000. That money is, Business Administrator Michael Rogers said, 75 percent of the expected cost of an open space acquisition of the , a process .
  5. Washington Street Gets Some Love: Streetscape improvements . Now, the town is looking to spread the love to Washington Street, too. A resolution calls for the endorsing of a grant application to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for $650,000 for those improvements.
