Recycle Archaic Electronics, County Reminds Residents

Got a new tablet over the holidays? Great, but just remember: tossing old electronics into the trash is against the law.

Did you upgrade your home electronics over the holidays? Morris County wants to remind you that the "out with the old" in "out with the old, in with the new" doesn't mean throwing that two-year-old, 320gb laptop (so primitive!) into the trash.

The Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority reminds residents that televisions, computers, electronic tablets, e-book readers, and monitors that have been replaced by new electronic holiday gifts must be taken to designated recycling collection points as required by state law.

A list of those designated recycling collection points in Morris County is available on the MUA website, www.mcmua.com.

Electronics recycling is also the topic of the latest Morris Minutes informational video on the county government's YouTube channel. The video, as always hosted by the lovely and talented Joe Garifo, also can be viewed alongside this article.
