DailyRecord.com: Council Hopeful Gets Another Chance

Judge ruled Tuesday to allow additional signatures.

A Town Council hopeful in the First Ward got his third chance in less than a week to make sure his nominating petition to run in the June primary is on the up-and-up, according to a DailyRecord.com article.

Christopher Kehrli, a democrat that had filed to run in the First Ward, had his petition declared invalid over a week ago when . Matt Stechauner declared the petition invalid, leading Kehrli to file a lawsuit against the town on April 25.

Last week, Superior Court Judge Robert Brennan in Morristown said Kehrli had acted on good faith and gave him a second chance to get the necessary 18 signatures in order by noon on Friday. Several signatures, however, were deemed invalid by the Town Clerk, leaving Kehrli without the minimum 18 required.
