Daycare Proposal Voted Down by Zoning Board

Traffic problems would have been too much to overcome for Turtle Road business, report says.

There will be no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. There won’t be a start to the rainbow, either.

After months of hearings and testimony, the Morristown Zoning Board voted 6-1 to deny an applicant, Rainbow Academy, from building a 10,000-square foot daycare center on Turtle Road, according to morristowngreen.com.

It took four hours and 19 residents of Morristown and Morris Township to testify before a decision was made, the report said, with the highest point of contention coming from a perceived traffic expansion problem on Turtle Road and at the nearby intersection of Turtle Road, Madison Avenue, and Franklin Street.
