Election Day: Good Early Turnouts in Ward 3

Also, opponents Stefan Armington and Ed Ramirez work together to get Morristown to the polls.

In a show of solidarity not uncommon in Morristown, Ward 3 Town Council candidates Stefan Armington and Ed Ramirez sat side-by-side at Petrone Towers on Early Street Tuesday, checking off who has turned out to vote.

Even though the two are on opposite ends of the political spectrum––both see a common goal important to everyone.

"No matter who is running, a lot of people gave their lives for our right to vote," said Ramirez, 64. "We have a moral obligation."

Chip Robinson, Democratic Chair for the Morris County Committee, was chasing last-minute voters Tuesday morning. "We fully expect the legislature to be in the hands of the Democrats by the end of the day," he said. "And, you can quote me on that."

While Morristown has historically been prime Democratic territory, often most county races and other municipalities tend to lean heavily Republican.

Dan Periera, one of the volunteers at Democratic HQ, said the race locally to keep an eye on is in the Fourth Ward, .

"There's a lot of exciting races going on in Morris County that will be decided within 200 votes or less," he said. "Locally, the one to keep an eye on is Ciklic vs. Deeb."
