Local Police Officers Run Special Olympics Torch Thru Morristown

They participated in the torch run despite the rain

New Jersey was recovering from the effects of Tropical Storm Andrea after the state dealt with an emergency landing at Newark, car accidents and flooding in Long Beach Island and elsewhere throughout the state

Morris Township Police Officers ran through the rain on Friday in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey. Similar to the running of the Olympic Torch, the run consists of dedicated Law Enforcement officers participating in a journey to bring the Special Olympics New Jersey “Flame of Hope” torch throughout the state.

The Morris Township PBA Local 133 is proud to have donated $300 towards the cause this year, said Ptl. Heather Jones of the Crime Prevention Unit in the Morris Township Police Dept.
