Parking Garages Remain Open to Residents Until Monday Morning

Morristown motorists can take cars off the street over weekend as snow cleanup continues.

Morristown parking garages will be open and available residents free of charge until Monday, Feb. 17, Mayor Tim Dougherty announced Friday.

The garages were opened earlier this week as a nor’easter dumped more than a foot of snow on the area, and now the cleanup effort is underway.

In order to do move the snow from streets in town, residents will need to move their cars from the roads. The following garages will be open to residents, free of charge, through Monday, Feb. 17 at 8 a.m.

  • Dalton Parking Garage (Cattano Avenue)
  • Ann/Bank Parking Garage
  • DeHart Garage
  • Vail Parking Deck (From South Street)

Anyone removing their vehicles from one of the designated garages after 8 a.m. Monday will be subject to parking fees.

I hope the town tows vehicles to aide in the snow removal process. I've driven down multiple two-way streets that are barely a lane wide now because of snow banks and cars never removed from the prior storm.

I loved the fact that the garages were opened up during this last storm. it helped out greatly and more people should use them. Saved hours of digging out!! A brilliant move, hope they continue to do this.:)
