Primer: Town Council Meets Tonight

Welcome to September Town Council meetings.

Now that summer is nearly over, Town Council is returning to its usual once every two weeks format. Tonight, there are several presentations, ordinances for adoption, resolutions and more.   1. You Need to Know About the Town Hall Parking Lot: Noticed that the foliage lining Town Hall's Franklin Street entrances has been shorn? That's because plans are proceeding for some alterations. A presentation, by Town Engineer Jeff Hartke, and Landscape Architect Carolle Huber (also one of the founders of Grow it Green Morristown), will get people up to speed on the project.
  2. You Need to Know About the new Department of Public Works Facility: Or, at least the plan for it, which Hartke also will be presenting tonight.
  3. You Need to Know About 20 Hillcrest Ave.: We have reported on the two-acre property . But, tonight will be when the council officially approves its purchase, making way for a neighborhood park.
  4. You Need to Know About $2 Million: That is the amount of money being introduced tonight for proposed allocation for Sewer Utility Complex improvements.
  5. You Need to Know About South Street Streetscape Phase III: As you may have noticed, . Tonight, a resolution approving the Morristown Division of Engineering’s application to the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the Fiscal Year 2012 Municipal Aid Program for South Street Streetscape Improvements Phase III will be presented.
