Sandy Volunteers Honored By Morristown

Citizen Emergency Response Team recognized for their post-storm efforts.

It has been almost a year since Hurricane Sandy blew into town and turned life upside down, and at Tuesday's meeting of the Mayor and Council Mayor Tim Dougherty took time to offer certificates of appreciation for the volunteers who made a horrible situation bearable for the community at large.

"As a result of that devastating storm came an unbelievable group people known as CERT volunteers," Dougherty told Patch. "It makes our community very special that if a disaster strikes there are people on the ground ready to go door to door."

See the video of the proclamation and Dougherty's further remarks attached to this post.
