Update: Power Restoration Continues in Morristown

Mayor hopes to have more updates as afternoon progresses.

Officials in Morristown continue to work to restore power to areas affected by Hurricane Irene, Mayor Tim Dougherty said on Friday afternoon.

“We hope to have an update at 2 o’clock,” Dougherty said. “We have a gameplan today, and crews will be working over the weekend.”

That gameplan includes restoring power to Parsons Village, as well as part of Morristown’s business district near on North Park Place. Those particular outages were caused by primary lines being down as a result of the storm.

“From what I’m being told, they’re working on it as we speak,” Dougherty said.

Areas restored last night included Franklin, Hill and Elm Streets, as well as Altamont Court and Jacob Ford Village.
