Jerk Store Takes Their First No Idea Dodgeball Title

With countless seasons of dodgeball under their belts but no championship victories to claim as their own, 2 teams who have played since the inception of No Idea Sports’ dodgeball league battled for the title on Thursday night. SOTS finished the regular season undefeated at 8-0 and Jerk Store finished in third place with a 5-3 record. When the teams met for the only time in the second week of the season, SOTS pulled out the victory, 9-6, and both teams knew there was a good chance they’d meet again in the final.

Fast forward a few weeks and both teams were ready to battle for their first championship belt; SOTS looking to stay undefeated and Jerk Store looking to make up for their first loss of the season.

SOTS jumped out to the 1-0 lead, but couldn’t hold onto it as Jerk Store would rally for 3 straight wins, going up 3-1. The game would ping-pong back and forth until the final game; SOTS evened the score at 3-3; Jerk Store won 2 in a row to make it 5-3; SOTS rallied to go up 6-5; Jerk Store won another 2 in a row to go up 7-6. With the teams tied 8-8, the championship was on the line as the refs called for last game.

With a 2 to 1 player advantage on the court, Jerk Store pegged the final SOTS player standing, sealing the 9-8 victory and taking home their first title.

Congratulations to Jerk Store on their first championship and a great job to both teams on an exciting game.
