No Idea Flag Football Champion Crowned at Central Park

Two ultra competitive teams took to the field Sunday for No Idea Sports' flag football championship.

The Sunday afternoon championship of No Idea Sports' flag football season featured 2 evenly matched teams who battled right until the very last second of the game.

Vick in a Box entered the championship atop the standings with a 4-0-1 record, while The Colonials were ranked third with a 3-2 record.

Both teams came out and played an extremely physical, back-and-forth game, but in the end, it was The Colonials who claimed the title, 36-30.

Scott DeMarco had 3 touchdowns for Vick in a Box, but his dazzling offensive performance wasn't enough, as The Colonials' Marcus Alston and Diego Salas each intercepted Vick in a Box's Mike Greeley. Battling until the very last second, The Colonials sealed the championship on the last play of the game; Vick in a Box's top female player, Nicki Martini, was virtually unstoppable for most of the game, but The Colonials defense blocked her from scoring the tying touchdown, shutting her down at the 1/2 yard line on the game's final play.

Will The Colonials take their winning streak into next season?  They'll be defending their title starting next Sunday when No Idea Sports' next season of flag football, (re-named for the winter as Frozen Tundra Flag Football), starts.
