Morristown, NJ—Beginning February 5, 2011, The Red Oaks School will offer five new Saturday classes to children outside the current Red Oaks School community. This innovative program will enable new families to experience core aspects of the school's educational approach. The program, called Saturday Programs, for Curious Minds, uses a Montessori-based curriculum to help children expand their knowledge, gain confidence to explore, and thus engage their interest in learning—E3—Expand, Explore, Engage. The classes provide children ranging in age from 18 months to 9 years opportunities for enriched learning in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. The programs are designed to encourage positive learning attitudes and behaviors.
Programs include: Just Daddy and Me for children ages 18 months to 4 years. This class offers a focused learning environment and teaches parents developmentally appropriate practices that promote physical, cognitive and social growth; Kindergarten Enrichment—More with Montessori for children ages 5 to 6 uses a Montessori-based phonics and math curriculum to help children develop strong foundational reading and math skills; Singapore Math for children ages 6 to 9 is an intensive proven program that teaches students the fundamentals of problem solving, model drawing, and mathematical thinking; Music and Technology for children ages 6 to 9 is a state-of-the-art program called MusIQClub offered in partnership with Music2go of Morris County. This class introduces music and piano skills to children in an engaging and innovative way; and finally Art Studio Explorations for children ages 6 to 9 is an intensive enrichment program that uses the lens of popular culture along with various media, visual elements, and creative techniques to engage children in the world of art.
