Workshop: Using the Sustainability Toolkit to Build Healthier Communities

 

The Citizens Campaign and Sustainable Jersey are hosting a North Jersey Regional Workshop designed to empower citizens to identify and pursue opportunities to improve the quality of life in their hometowns and to assist in improving the state's environment.

The workshop "Using the Sustainability Toolkit to Build Healthier Communities" will be Friday, October 21st, registration at 6pm, program 6:30-8:30pm.

The first half of the workshop will be an overview of opportunities for people to get results in sustainable initiatives they are interested in proposing within their community, followed by an interactive discussion with noted sustainability experts including Donna Drewes, Co-Founder of Sustainable Jersey; Jennifer Duckworth, Environmental Consultant; Athena Sarafides of the DEP Office of Planning and Sustainable Communities; and Councilman Andre Sayegh of the City of Paterson.

Attendees to the workshop will have access to ongoing mentoring and coaching by The Citizens Campaign, particularly assistance in serving on local Green Teams, recruiting people to join Green Teams and other Environmental boards and commissions, and assistance in presenting Sustainable Jersey model ordinances to local governing bodies and school boards.
