Nor'easter Closes Local Schools Thursday

Storm expected to bring a foot of snow to the area.

While the sun had yet to go down on Wednesday without a drop of precipitation to hit the roads, local schools decided to take a pre-emptive strike on the approaching nor'easter and shut their doors Thursday.

The Morris School District made the call to close Thursday ahead of the pending snowstorm just before the evening commute, as did many other area schools, with anywhere between six and 18 inches of snow, freezing rain and ice forecasted to blanket the area.

The storm comes just a week after all local schools were forced into two closings and two delayed openings to start the month, as snow continues to accumulate in the area.
