The board also approved professional development for freshman physics, K-5 language arts and technology in physical education.

Math and science are also being pushed to the forefront. The district is involved with a Math-Science partnership with Steven’s Institute of Technology called C-Teams. “Teachers from elementary, middle and high school learn curriculum topic study, and collaborate on vertical tuition of a math or science concept.”

The board accepted $1,100 from the Institute to pay for substitute teachers while the teachers participated in the professional development during this past 2012-13 school year.
