Oxford Schools Closed Tuesday, Feb. 12

Freezing rain added a layer of ice to the snow piles already on the ground from the blizzard. The weather is causing school districts across Connecticut to cancel school tomorrow, including Oxford.

Oxford Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 12. Teachers received an e-mail from Superintendant Tim Connellan and shared it with Oxford Patch.

In the e-mail, Connellan said it is doubtful that schools will be open on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Here's a really sad story! The Oxford public works was out this morning plowing my neighbors entire driveway. Why? Shouldn't they be helping at the schools seeing the superintendent is pleading for help? I yelled at this guy telling him that they need help at the schools, he told me the schools are done! Really? No help to public works. When do they plow private driveways?

While schools may be 'done', many roads are not safe for a school bus to travel on, or even for children to wait for the bus. That said....PLOWING OUT PRIVATE PEOPLE!!!!!! why???? You can be clearing out the town roads to get the schools re-opened!!!! My tax dollars shouldn't have to pay to plow town resident's driveways!!
