Several Schools Still Without Power, Polling Location Moved

Decision whether or not keep Morris School District schools closed Tuesday expected to be made Monday afternoon.

The Morris School District is expected to decide sometime Monday afternoon whether not schools will remain closed Tuesday.

As of 9 a.m. Monday morning four schools remained in the dark: Hillcrest Elementary, Woodland School, Sussex Avenue School and Frelinghuysen Middle School. Thomas Jefferson Elementary School had partial power, but no heat.

The lack of heat at that James Street school was what lead to the county Board of Elections moving that school's polling location to Town Hall, said Morris School District representative Mary Donohoe. She has said no other schools were damaged as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
